Oven

I’m washing our oven.

My family flew out earlier this week, so I am here alone to wrap up our affairs. The preparation for move is coming well, though I have a lot to do.

We used our oven often, so it just has this dark liquidy thing burned into the inner wall. I got some steel wool and am trying to get it out.

It is a time consuming affair — often it looks like there’s no progress.

But after a few minutes, I wipe the area I’m working on with a rag — and indeed, there is progress.

It’s a grunt work so the time seems to pass by slowly — it feels like a long time, yet in reality it’s no taking that long.

Still, it’s a bit much to do it all in one sitting, so I just work on it for a while, then when I get tired, I go do other things. It’ll get done — sooner or later.

Just like everything else in life.
